Hive Check 30 April

Making use of a sunny day I decided to bring this weeks check forward and just as well. Denn and I casually looked at the first couple of frames noticing eggs brood and honey until we came to the third one, then it all changed. At the bottom of this one was a beautifully formed but very sealed queen cell. A bit of a shock so we quickly worked through and found another on each of the following 3 frames. Four sealed queen cells!! This meant over the last 13 days of rain the bees had been steadily changing the numerous play cups into the real thing. There were lots of bees so they hadn't swarmed but they were going to. We closed up and phoned Martin
