Unfortunately as expected the second hive did not survive. On opening last week it was empty, we didn't combine the few bees that were left the week before with the other hive just in case they did have CBPV. The second hive however is doing fine, we saw eggs, brood and the queen. The bees must have found some forage as they have not been taking the syrup left for them. If fact since the Hebe around the school of education has come into flower they have been very busy.
