Today was a bit hectic trying to manage two
hive checks between shower of rain. The rain started just before we planned the
first hive check at 2pm and we had to wait for a burst of sunshine before we
could begin. Luckily the weather improved long enough for both hives to be
checked before the clouds appeared again.
The larger hive is doing very
well and although we were not sure we saw the queen bee, there were signs that
she was around. The second hive is not doing so well, but we did see the queen
and there are signs of brood. The photos were taken today and a few
volunteers joined in today.
