The bees have been quiet during the past two months partially due to the weather and drop in numbers. We have found a few wasps nests on site and there are were some gruesome signs of the bees that were cut in half either by the local wasps or hornets.

We are currently feeding the bees regularly with a sugar syrup and will give them some fondant towards the end of November to see them through the winter months. If you would like to volunteer to attend a hive check email me on r.white@kingston.ac.uk. The hive checks normally take place on Wednesday afternoons, weather permitting.

 The more active hive.

The syrup of sugar water fed to the bees.

A dead wasp found near the hives.
