Did a quick check today before the rain started. The bees were VERY cross at having someone open their nice warm hive, so I only pulled out a couple of frames to check if there were eggs, and there were. I topped up their bee syrup and installed a nice new water feeder. The wasp trap was a failure but Joseph has given details of a more effective one. 3 Varroa on the board.
If anyone is at a loose end on Sunday afternoon we'll be representing the University at the Capital Bee London Honey Festival in the Clore Room at the Royal Festival Hall, its free for visitors and has activities for children and lots of honey for tasting (sadly not ours this year). We will be sharing a stand with St Marys University College who also got their bees this year.
