Kingston Hill Buzz at the London Honey Festival...

A large and enthusiastic crowd attended the Capital Growth London Honey Festival last Sunday. Kingston University (Team Kingston Hill Buzz!) teamed up with St Mary’s Twickenham, who also installed bee hives this year, to display information about bee keeping on a University campus.

Tina was on hand on the day, and played games such as ‘Spot the Queen Bee’ with the crowd.

On display was one of the wild bee boxes that were made by students at Fresher’s Fayre last year. It attracted lots of positive attention. We hope that the people who saw it decided to go home and make their own version, as some were disappointed that ours was not for sale!

The main event of the day was a honey tasting competition which was open to any honey produced on a small scale in London. Sadly, neither Kingston nor St Mary’s were able to enter a jar into the competition, as both hives are too new. However, we hope to enter next year... watch this space :)
