We looked through the frames and were able to identify sealed brood (bee larvae) and newly laid eggs. After a search we spotted the queen, shes quite small but very nippy!

After we reassembled the hive we had a quick look at the varroa floor and were pleased not to be able to see any.

First check complete and everyone came out unscathed, humans and bees! We were pleased to get out of our suits on such a warm day.
